Service Description
St Johns – Speed & Agility Holiday Clinic (Ages 14–18) The UNCAPD Speed & Agility Holiday Clinic (Ages 14–18) is designed for athletes preparing for the increasing physical demands of competitive sport. During adolescence, improvements in sprint technique, acceleration mechanics, and change-of-direction efficiency can significantly influence on-field performance. This clinic focuses on refining these key movement skills through structured coaching and targeted drills that help athletes run faster, move more efficiently, and react quicker in sport situations. Across the two training sessions, athletes will work through a progressive program that includes sprint mechanics, acceleration drills, agility patterns, braking mechanics, and reactive movement exercises. Sessions combine technical instruction with competitive movement activities to help athletes apply these skills under pressure. As part of the clinic, athletes will complete 20m Sprint Testing using laser timing technology. Laser timing systems provide highly accurate sprint measurements and are commonly used in professional sport environments. This allows athletes to gain objective feedback on their acceleration and sprint performance while helping coaches identify key areas for technical improvement. The clinic is ideal for athletes participating in rugby, football, netball, hockey, basketball, athletics, and other field or court sports where speed and agility are essential performance qualities. All sessions are delivered by experienced youth performance coaches in a structured environment that prioritises movement quality, technical development, and long-term athletic progression. Location: 71 Merton Road St Johns, Auckland Dates: Monday 13 April Tuesday 14 April Session Time: 11:00am – 1:00pm Price: $120 per athlete (includes both clinic days) Places are limited to ensure a strong coach-to-athlete ratio and high-quality instruction.
