What are the Athlete Development Programs?

Our Athlete Development Programs are structured term-based training programs for athletes aged 8–18. Athletes can train in Speed & Agility, Strength & Conditioning, or a combination of both, depending on their goals, age and training schedule.Programs focus on developing the physical qualities that support long-term athletic performance, including speed, agility, strength, power, coordination and movement quality.

What is the difference between Speed & Agility and Strength & Conditioning?

Speed & Agility focuses on sprint mechanics, acceleration, change of direction, reactive agility, jumping, landing and overall movement efficiency.Strength & Conditioning develops strength, power, movement competency and physical robustness through age-appropriate resistance training, jumping, throwing and athletic movement.Both programs complement each other and are designed around the same long-term athlete development philosophy.

Can my athlete do both Speed & Agility and Strength & Conditioning?

Yes. Athletes selecting a 2x Weekly membership can combine Speed & Agility and Strength & Conditioning for a more complete training week.They can also select two sessions from the same program where suitable sessions are available.

Question 4

How do the 1x and 2x Weekly memberships work?

A 1x Weekly membership reserves your athlete a place in one selected training session each week.A 2x Weekly membership reserves places in two selected training sessions each week.During registration, you will select the specific session or sessions your athlete will attend for the term.

What is the difference between weekly and upfront payment?

Both options provide access to the same training program.Pay Weekly spreads the cost across weekly payments during the term.Pay Upfront allows you to pay for the full term in one payment and provides a lower overall term cost.

Question 6

Does my athlete attend the same session each week?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When registering, you will select your athlete's preferred training session(s). Their place is then reserved in those sessions for the term.This allows us to manage group sizes, coaching ratios and program progression while providing athletes with a consistent training environment.

Question 7

How are athletes grouped?

Accepted Answer

Athletes are grouped primarily by age and developmental stage, with sessions structured to ensure training remains appropriate for the athletes in each group.Coaches can adjust exercises, loading, complexity and progressions within the session to suit individual ability and training experience.

Question 8

What happens if my athlete misses a session?

Accepted Answer

Memberships reserve a place in your athlete's selected weekly session for the full term.Where possible, we may be able to accommodate attendance at another appropriate session, subject to availability, age group and program suitability. Make-up sessions are not guaranteed.

Can we join after the term has started?

Accepted Answer

Yes, where places remain available.If the term has already started, contact us and we can confirm suitable sessions and the best membership option based on the remaining weeks.

What happens after I register?

Once registration and payment are completed, your athlete will be added to their selected program and you will receive the information required to get started.You'll also receive access to the UNCAPD app, which we use for:Performance testing and progress trackingHomework and training resourcesProgram information and updatesAthlete and parent notifications

Does my athlete need previous training experience?

No. Our programs cater for athletes with different levels of training experience, from athletes beginning structured physical development through to experienced competitive athletes.Training is progressed according to age, competency and individual ability, with movement quality and technical execution prioritised before increasing complexity or load.

Question 12

What should my athlete bring to training?

Accepted Answer

Athletes should arrive in appropriate training clothing and footwear with a water bottle.Any specialist equipment required for the session will be provided.
