UNCAPD Development – Speed & Agility Program (Ages 11–13)
Term 2 Program

Developing Speed, Coordination, and Athletic Performance

The UNCAPD Development Speed & Agility Program is a structured 8-week training programme designed for athletes aged 11–13. At this stage of development, athletes are ready to refine sprint mechanics, improve acceleration, and develop more advanced agility and change-of-direction skills.

The Development stage focuses on bridging the gap between foundational movement and performance training. Athletes learn how to apply efficient movement mechanics while increasing their ability to produce force, accelerate quickly, and move efficiently in multiple directions.

Research in youth athletic development highlights early adolescence as a critical window for improving speed, coordination, and neuromuscular control, making structured coaching particularly valuable during this stage.

Sessions are delivered by qualified performance coaches and follow a progressive structure combining technical instruction, applied drills, and competitive challenges. The goal is to build both athletic ability and confidence in movement.

  • 5-10-5 Agility Test

  • Standing Broad Jump

  • Countermovement Jump (CMJ)

  • Reactive Strength Index (RSI)

These assessments provide objective measures of speed, acceleration, agility, explosive power, and reactive strength, allowing families and athletes to track measurable improvements across the program.

  • Athletes aged 11–13

  • Intermediate sporting levels

  • Multi-sport athletes

  • Families seeking structured, evidence-based athletic development
