UNCAPD High Performance Intensive - Ages 13+- July Holidays

Athlete Development & Performance Immersive Experience | Ages 13–18

 

Monday 6th July – Thursday 9th July
Monday–Wednesday: 9:00am–3:00pm
Thursday: 9:00am–1:00pm approx.

 

The UNCAPD High Performance Intensive is a premium athlete development experience designed for athletes wanting to further develop their athletic performance, understanding of high-performance sport, and overall approach to training, recovery, and long-term development.

 

This intensive is designed for athletes who are motivated to learn, engage, and develop within a professional and high-performance environment.

 

This is not a bootcamp or standard holiday program.

 

Across four days, athletes will take part in structured athletic development sessions, athlete education workshops, recovery experiences, performance profiling, and mentorship from experienced coaches and industry professionals.

 

Training & Athletic Development:

 

Training sessions will be delivered by the UNCAPD coaching staff led by Nick Stobart (Director of UNCAPD Performance), alongside Leah (Head Sprint Coach) and Nikheil (Head Strength & Conditioning Coach).

 

Training elements include:

 

  • Sprint mechanics

  • Speed & acceleration development

  • Agility & change of direction

  • Strength & conditioning

  • Power & plyometric development

  • Athletic movement efficiency

  • Jumping & landing mechanics

  • Recovery & regeneration

  • Competitive movement & athletic challenges

 

Athlete Testing & Profiling:

 

Athletes will complete performance testing and athletic profiling throughout the intensive.

 

Testing may include:

 

  • Sprint speed & acceleration

  • Jump testing

  • Power assessments

  • Movement competency

  • Athletic profiling

 

Following the intensive, athletes will receive an individual athlete summary report outlining:

 

  • Testing results

  • Key strengths

  • Development areas

  • Recommendations moving forward

 

Leadership & Mental Skills Workshop:

 

The leadership and mental skills workshop will be delivered by Seb Mortimer, who has worked closely alongside a mental skills coach that has worked with:

 

  • Richie McCaw

  • Mahe Drysdale

  • Kane Williamson

 

Seb is currently involved with the North Queensland Cowboys and the New Zealand Rugby Sevens teams.

 

Workshop topics include:

 

  • Mental skills in high-performance sport

  • Leadership

  • Habits & routines

  • Performance mindset

  • Confidence & consistency

  • Goal setting

  • Managing pressure and expectations

 

Injury Prevention, Management & Loading Workshop:

 

Delivered by a physiotherapist experienced in athlete development and performance environments.

 

Topics include:

 

  • Injury prevention

  • Injury management

  • Athlete loading & recovery

  • Warm-up & mobility

  • Managing training demands

  • Returning from injury effectively

 

Nutrition Workshop:

 

Delivered by Harry Finnigan, sports nutritionist working with the Blues and NZ Warriors.

 

Topics include:

 

  • Fueling for performance

  • Recovery nutrition

  • Hydration

  • Training & game day nutrition

  • Nutrition habits for youth athletes

 

Food and practical nutrition learning may also be included.

 

Athlete Seminar & Q&A:

 

A special athlete guest will be announced closer to the intensive.

Thursday High Performance Experience:

 

Thursday includes a full Strength & Conditioning session at Oxygen Fitness followed by a guided recovery and education experience at Limitless Recovery.

 

Athletes will learn about:

 

  • Contrast therapy

  • Recovery modalities

  • Managing fatigue

  • Recovery strategies for performance sport

  • The role of recovery in high performance
