Manurewa - Speed & Agility Program (Wednesday Ages 8-10) - Testing Results - Term 1, 2026
- Apr 3
- 2 min read
At the completion of our Term 1 program, athletes in the Pakuranga 8–10 group completed post-testing to compare against their Week 1 baseline.
This testing provides insight into the development of key athletic qualities, including:
• Sprint performance (20m)
• Change of direction (5–10–5)
• Lower-body power (Broad Jump & CMJ)
• Reactive strength (RSI)
All results below show Week 1 → Week 8 values, along with percentage change across the program (positive % indicates improvement).
How to Interpret Results
• Sprint & agility: Lower time = improvement
• Broad Jump, CMJ & RSI: Higher value = improvement
Results Table
Athlete | 20m Sprint | 5–10–5 | Broad Jump | CMJ | RSI |
Amelia F | 4.209 → 4.091 (+2.80%) | 6.321 → 6.238 (+1.31%) | 1.51 → 1.68 (+11.26%) | 29.2 → 30.2 (+3.42%) | N/A → 0.52 |
Standout Performance
Amelia F
• 20m Sprint: +2.80%
• Broad Jump: +11.26%
• CMJ: +3.42%
Clear improvements in both sprint performance and lower-body power, indicating better force production and movement efficiency.
Key Insights
Speed Development
Improvement in 20m sprint time reflects:
• Better acceleration mechanics
• Improved force application into the ground
• Increased confidence in sprinting
Power Development (CMJ & Broad Jump)
Notable improvements in jumping performance indicate:
• Increased lower-body strength
• Improved coordination and timing
• Enhanced explosive ability
Agility Development
Slight improvement in 5–10–5 reflects:
• Better control when changing direction
• Improved movement awareness
Reactive Strength (RSI)
RSI was introduced during post-testing:
• Provides a baseline for future development
• Reflects ability to absorb and reapply force
Important Context
At this stage of development, improvements are often driven by:
• Increased coordination
• Learning movement patterns
• Improved confidence
Testing is only one part of development.
Across the program, there were clear improvements in:
• Movement quality
• Sprint technique
• Jumping and landing mechanics
Final Note
This is a strong foundation stage of development.
Amelia demonstrated clear progress across key athletic qualities, particularly:
• Speed
• Power
• Movement efficiency
These qualities will continue to develop with consistent, structured training.
