Panmure - Speed, Agility & Athlete Development (Monday Ages 8-10) - Testing Results - Term 1, 2026
- 7 hours ago
- 3 min read
At the conclusion of the Term 1 program, athletes completed their Week 8 testing to compare against their Week 1 baseline.
This testing reflects development across:
Acceleration (10m sprint)
Change of direction (5–10–5)
Lower-body power (Broad Jump & CMJ)
Strength (Grip & Mid-Thigh Pull)
Muscular endurance (Push Ups & Supine Pulls)
How to interpret results:
Sprint & agility: Lower time = improvement
Strength & power: Higher value = improvement
% reflects change across the 8-week program
Athletes who did not complete post-testing have been excluded, while new athletes completing Week 8 testing are included without comparison.

Group Trends & Key Takeaways
Power Development
All returning athletes improved in CMJ and/or Broad Jump, demonstrating:
Increased force production
Improved jumping mechanics
Better coordination
Acceleration & Agility
Positive improvements were seen in:
10m sprint performance (acceleration)
Change of direction ability (5–10–5)
These are critical foundations for sport-specific movement.
Strength & Control
Improvements in:
Mid-Thigh Pull (force production)
Supine Pull (upper-body strength and control)
Highlight better overall strength development and body control.
Important Context
While testing provides valuable objective data, we do not assess athlete development based on numbers alone.
Across the program, there were clear and significant improvements in movement quality, including:
Sprint technique and acceleration mechanics
Coordination and rhythm
Jumping and landing control
General strength and body awareness
These improvements are fundamental at this stage of development and are not always fully reflected in testing metrics.
There are also many variables that influence testing outcomes, including:
Growth and maturation
Fatigue and external sporting commitments
Familiarity with testing procedures
Daily readiness
For this reason, results should always be interpreted within the broader context of each athlete’s development.
Final Note
This group has made excellent progress across the term, particularly in building foundational speed, strength, and movement competency.
These are critical building blocks for long-term athletic development and future performance.
