Holiday Program Performance Testing Results

Celebrating Athlete Development Across the July Holidays

Our July Holiday Programs gave athletes the opportunity to develop their speed, strength, power, movement quality, and overall athletic performance while learning from experienced coaches and industry professionals.

Alongside the coaching, we also completed performance testing where time allowed, giving athletes an opportunity to benchmark several key athletic qualities.

It's important to remember that testing is simply a snapshot in time. While performance data is valuable, the real goal is long-term development through consistent training and quality movement. Numbers don't define an athlete—they simply help us understand where they are today and where we can continue improving.

Holiday Testing Results

Please note: Testing was not conducted every day of the holiday program, as our priority was maximising coaching time and athlete development. As a result, some athletes may not appear in every test or may not have been tested at all. This is completely normal and not a cause for concern.

What Do These Tests Mean?

20m Sprint

Measures acceleration and sprinting speed. Developing efficient mechanics and the ability to produce force quickly are key qualities for almost every field and court sport.

Vertical Jump

Assesses lower-body power and an athlete's ability to produce force vertically.

Broad Jump

Measures horizontal power, an important quality for acceleration, sprinting, and explosive sporting movements.

Reactive Strength Index (RSI)

RSI measures how effectively an athlete can absorb force and rapidly produce force again after ground contact. Higher scores generally indicate better stretch-shortening cycle efficiency, which contributes to sprinting, jumping, and change of direction performance.

The Bigger Picture

Performance testing is an excellent way to benchmark athletic qualities, but it is only one part of the development process.

At UNCAPD, our focus remains on:

  • Building quality movement patterns.

  • Developing speed and strength progressively.

  • Improving athletic confidence.

  • Reducing injury risk.

  • Creating long-term athletic development pathways.

Consistent, high-quality training over months and years will always have a greater impact than any single testing session.

Continue Your Development in Term 3

Our Term 3 Speed & Agility and Strength & Conditioning programs begin soon, with athletes completing structured performance testing during Week 1 and Week 8 to track measurable improvements throughout the term.

We look forward to seeing athletes continue building on the progress they made during the holidays and taking the next step in their athletic development.
